LJUBLJANA

MARIBOR
Maribor is the second largest city in the country, with great wine tradition, the oldest vine in the world is here, 400 years old and it has its own house on which it grows. The wine-growing tradition in the Maribor region is marked by exceptional white wines, which rank among the best in the world. Eco tourism is developed in Maribor region, because of its beautiful nature, country side and Pohorje hills. It is situated next to border with Austria.

PTUJ
Ptuj, welcome to the oldest city in the country. Make sure you visit its castle and museum which will tell you a story about its long history. Ptuj castle will provide you with great view of the region from where you can spot some of the famous wine yards in this part of Slovenia. Make sure you taste some of the wines, especially white ones, which are specialty of the region.

KRANJ
Kranj. When in Kranj, don’t forget to explore its diverse history through sites like the memorial park Prešeren’s Grove and Prešeren Theatre with its sculpture of Slovenia’s great poet, France Prešeren. Walk to the Town Hall to see the permanent archaeological exhibition and peek into the Khislstein Castle, the Gorenjska Museum and the Prešeren Memorial Museum. A diverse range of cultural events, festivals and concerts will make your visit an experience to remember. Nature lovers will be fascinated by the nearby Kokra River Gorge.

CELJE
Celje, the city of famous Slovenian counts of Celje is small, but diversed and romantic town only 70km from Ljubljana. Old castle will tell you stories about long and vivid history, but give you romantic walks inside as well. In museum of history you will learn how old Celje is and see Roman heritage of the town which is in a whole new town beneath Celje.

BLED
Bled lake. In such a nature rich and beautiful country such as Slovenia is really hard to amplify the most beautiful place but for this Alpine lake, you can make an exception. It is a paradise of Slovenia, a definite must see when visiting the country. In wider circles, known as THE paradise. It has an island on the middle which you can visit with their traditional “pletna” boats. After climbing 99 steps you will visit church Assumption of Mary church. On your way to the island you will hear a lot of tales and legends about this gorgeous place. Make sure you visit the castle as well and take a look at the lake from it. The scenery can’t be really described by words, you really need to see it by yourself. We strongly encourage you to feel Bled!

TRIGLAV
Triglav national park is the highest mountain in the country next to Austrian and Italian border, near Blade lake. Amazing nature from Bled continues in Triglav, go to the highest view points and enjoy breath-taking views of this Alpine mountain. From some points, view will take you all the way to Adriatic Sea. You will have numerous options to explore national park by foot or by park busses. Climb to the top of the mountain or enjoy many gorges, rivers and lakes inside, combine it, you will be grateful for visiting Triglav!.

POSTOJNA CAVE
Postojna cave is something special. It is the most visited cave in Europe which is connected to Predjama castle, the biggest cave castle in the world. Famous train in the cave will take you on a 1:30h tour through underground tunnels and beauties of the cave. Yes, a train in the cave! Among other amazing things, you will see human fish, the oldest underground post office and many others.

VINTGAR GORGE
Vintgar Gorge is 1,6km long very well touristically arranged George next to Bled lake, in Troglav national park. It is way through hills filled with pools, wooden bridges, waterfalls and intact beauty. The biggest waterfall is 13m high and will make you stand still in front of it with great respect towards the nature that gave birth to such a beautiful hydrological site. You have few different trails to discover the gorge. Its steep depths, vertical walls, rapid river beneath, vegetation and the largest waterfall in Slovenia are all intended to impress.

BOHILJ LAKE
Bohilj lake, located only 26km away from Bled lake is its biggest competitor in beauty and nature and theme of many discussions which lake is better. You be the judge, it is on visitors to vote and decide, if it is really possible to make such a decision. It is more quiet, less crowded and missing a bit of that glamour that Bled has, but be not deceived, this lake is amazing. It is on the very beginning of Triglav park, and is excellent for vacation and relaxation from urban environment our lives are occupied with. Enjoy the beauty of Bled but come to Bohilj to feel the nature.
