DAY 1 - BELGRADE: ARRIVAL
Upon arrival to Belgrade airport meet and greet by the guide and drive to hotel for check in. After rest in hotel we will go to visit a Milanovic winery, located on a picturesque cliff next to the Danube, a few dozen meters high, in the Srem village of Surduk. The owner of the winery, Dejan Milanović, came to the idea to expand a few rows of vines to over 5 hectares of surface. He decided to grow white varieties for making tasty wines Sila, Neoplanta, and of red varieties Probus and Frankovka, which are autochthon sorts. By using warm bricks and style of building, Milanović winery brought back the atmosphere of old times and production processes. Red wine Probus and white wines Sila and Neoplanta carry several gold medals for quality. After a visit to a winery, we continue to Stoisica Salas for late lunch. The “Salash” with its authentic appearance remind us of past, romantic times, of rural hamlets of the Panonia. Today they are keepers of time and a traditional way of life. After lunch, drive back to Belgrade, overnight in hotel.
DAY 2 - BELGRADE – TRIŠIĆ WINERY – TOPOLA – VRNJAČKA BANJA
After breakfast, we will check out from the hotel and continue to the very heart of Serbia, where you will be able to Explore typical “Rebellious Serbia” at homeland of Djordje Petrovic, called Karadjordje or ”Black George”, who led the 1st Serbian uprising against the Turks in 1804. and established present Serbian Royal Dynasty of Karadjordjevic. He is one of the biggest national heroes.
On the way to Oplenac we will visit Trisic vinery which is a family winery, located in the northern part of the rolling hills of Šumadija, 30km from Belgrade. Since 2008, Trišić Winery has quickly traversed the exciting journey during which its wines, of wonderful and unique taste and experience, matured into the national symbol of the world-renowned quality of Serbian wine. The winery producing limited edition premium wines only.
Visit to the winery and wine yards, wine tasting with snack. After the visit we continue our trip to Topola.
Upon arrival to the town of Topola, former military base of Karadjordje. It is followed by the visit to Oplenac hill with the complex belonging to the Serbian Royal Dynasty Karadjordjevic: unique church in the world, church of St. George with royal family mausoleum. The interior is covered with 40 million pieces of glass mosaics in 15 000 different shades of colors! Next is house/museum of King Peter the 1st with family items and Karadjordje house with his personal items and his church. At the end we will visit the Royal wine cellar which is now wine museum.
Lunch in local restaurant in Topola with tasting local specialties. After lunch drive to Vrnjacka Spa. Check in the hotel and overnight.
DAY 3 - VRNJAČKA BANJA – UVAC CANYON – ŠTITKOVO VILLAGE – MT. ZLATIBOR
After breakfast we are checking out from hotel and moving towards Uvac National Reserve. Uvac river and its canyon is most famous by two things. First one is shape of the canyon which goes as meandres and second is the Griffon Vulture which is the only place that this bird lives in Europe. After arriving to canyon we will take off-road vehicles and go for viewpoint named Molitva, for taking photo of canyon and enjoying in Griffon Vulture’s flying. Afterward we will take a cruise in the canyon.
After few hours spending here we continue our way to Stitkovo village where we will have lunch. Stitkovo village once a main point of road crossing in Serbia in nowadays consist of 10-15 houses from 18th century with only 11 inhabitants left. In one of those houses we will have our lunch.
Drive to Zlatibor mountain. Check in the hotel and overnight.
DAY 4 - DRINA RIVER – KADINJAČA – UŽICE – MT. ZLATIBOR
After breakfast in hotel we will explore the beauties of Western Serbia.
Our first stop where we will have photo stop will be house on Drina river. It is a wooden, cabin-like house on the rock in the middle of the Drina river. The original object was built in 1968 by a group of swimmers who needed a shelter. The house started to gain prominence after establishing of the Drina regatta in 1994. The house became one of the most photographed objects in Serbia. A photo of it was chosen as one of th Photos of the Month of National Geographic in August 2012.
Visit to Stara Pesma family distillery which produces Rakija – the Serbian national brandy
Centuries ago, the Ilic family settled down on the slopes of the majestic mountain Tara, in one of the most beautiful villages, the village Pepelj. They quickly discovered the region’s exceptional natural ability to grow succulent fruit. The favorable climate of the southern facing slopes, lavishly sun kissed all day long, bore succulent fruits filled with natural sugars and the nearby forests enhanced and ensured fragrant and scented aromas.
Next thing that we will visit is Kadinjaca memorial complex. Memorial complex near UžiceKadinjača testifies about the days of the November 1941, when members of the Workers Battalion of Užice Partisan Detachment, which was commanded by AndrijaĐurović, provided fierce resistance to far superior German enemy, who at that time carried out offensive against the liberated territory "Republic of Užice". Workers Battalion brave fighters were killed in the battle of Kadinjača on 29 November 1941. German forces broke through the last defense of free Užice, but the heroism of the hero remained remembered in the years that followed.
The complex is a complex architectural museum form, which comprises the segments built between 1952 and 1979 year. In the first phase, the 1952, Kadinjača the monument was erected under the pyramid shape which is the crypt where lie the remains of members of the Workers' battalion were killed during the Battle of Kadinjača. After Kadinjaca we are going to have lunch in one household where hosts will make for us baked lamb from their own farm and serve us food and beverage produced only by them.
DAY 5 - MT. ZLATIBOR – MT. TARA – BELGRADE
After breakfast we will head to one of the most beautiful mountains in the region. Arrival at Mt. Tara National park and take a scenery tour to Zaovine Lake with photo stops. Continue to Šargan for a train ride on famous “Šargan Eight” railway to enjoy the scenery. Afterwards continue to Drvengrad, an open-air museum and resort concepted by our famous film director, Mr Emir Kusturica. After lunch at Drvengrad drive to Belgrade. Check in the hotel and overnight.
DAY 6 - BELGRADE – VIMINACIUM – DJERDAP GORGE – GOLUBAC – BELGRADE
After breakfast in hotel we are going to Djerdap gorge. Djerdap gorge is the point where Danube river is the widest, deepest and the narrowest in the same time. It is beautiful nature gem.
First we will visit Viminacium Roman city, which is the biggest Roman city in Serbia and one of the biggest in Europe. Viminatium was a major city (provincial capital) and military camp of the Roman province of Moesia (today's Serbia), and the capital of Moesia SuperiorAs of 2018, only 3 to 4% of the site has been explored. The city dates back to the 1st century AD, and at its peak it is believed to have had 40,000 inhabitants, making it one of the biggest cities in the Balkans of that time. Archeological site:
Next stop (optional) is Golubac Fortress which has had a tumultuous history. Prior to its construction it was the site of a Roman settlement. During the Middle Ages, it became the object of many battles, especially between the Ottoman Empire and the Kingdom of Hungary. It changed hands repeatedly, passing between Turks, Bulgarians, Hungarians, Serbs, and Austrians, until 1867, when it was turned over to the Serbian Knez, MihailoObrenović III. Now, it is a popular tourist attraction in the region and a sightseeing point on Danube boat tours.
The fortress has a distinction of successfully repelling over 120 conquering attacks during history.
We will visit viewpoint named Ploce with off-road vehicles. After 1 hour of that kind of experience we continue through the gorge following Danube river. Next stop is going to be Kapetan Misin breg, household with splendid view of Danube where we will have lunch break. After enjoying our lunch we will be back again on Danube road and drive back to Belgrade. Overnight in hotel in Belgrade.
DAY 7 - BELGRADE: SIGHTSEEING
Belgrade Sightseeing tour. Tour begins with panoramic sightseeing and visit to main sites and squares of Belgrade, Belgrade City Hall, Serbian Parliament, the main pedestrian zone of KnezMihailova Street, Belgrade University, National Theatre, National Museum, the oldest restaurant in Belgrade named "?", Orthodox Cathedral church. Tour continues to Kalemegdan Park and Belgrade Fortress with magnificent view on confluence of Sava to Danube River and Zemun Town, and much more.
After the sightseeing, visit to Bojkovcanka destilery, located on Avala mountain near Belagrade.
Upon arrival to distillery, guests are met in a traditional Serbian way (tasting traditional sweet “slatko” and water) . Afterwards we continue of the visit to the museum (where you will see the story of how the work started in producing rakija, with a short movie about Serbia). The tour continues with visit to the distillery. After the visit with degustation and snack (lasts about 01 hour), we will return to Belgrade for some rest.
DAY 8 - BELGRADE: DEPARTURE
After the breakfast we will depart to “Nikola Tesla” Belgrade International airport for farewell and departure.
